Benvenuti Arts is thrilled to be partnering with The Artist Co-op to bring you a workshop series around raising funds for your work and spending them wisely. Streamlined into two days, this series will demystify the grant writing process, help you find and cultivate new donors, and guide you in creating a cohesive, achievable fundraising plan for your entire year. With a focus on independent artists creating and producing their own work, this workshop will help you to create a plan that doesn’t tax your schedule and helps you achieve both short and long-term goals. In addition, each participating artist will receive one-on-one time with Founder Sarah Benvenuti!
Note: This workshop is not appropriate for 501c3 nonprofits operating with budgets of $5k or more annually. Please check our out workshop on September 26 if this describes you!
My artist brain tends to short-circuit when I have to think about money and numbers. I went to Sarah’s workshop at the Artist Co-op because of the word “De-Mystifying”: I thought, “Yes, PLEASE.” Turns out it’s not so scary. There are resources and money out there. Sarah knows them all. She’s the shortest distance between me and the support I need. She knows the terrain, and she’s a gifted navigator. She and her team are my secret weapon. Seeking out her help has been the best move I’ve made to make the art I want to make.
– Amy Hayes, Duende Productions
The workshop is led by Sarah Benvenuti, Founder and Lead Consultant of Benvenuti Arts. Sarah brings her operational excellence and fundraising skills to the table with experience that includes Managing Director and Director of Development of The Civilians, Managing Director of Curious Theater Company, and, currently, Benvenuti Arts. Since 2014, Benvenuti Arts has served over 60 small and midsize arts nonprofits in areas of fundraising and management. She has a B.M. in Music from Mercyhurst University and an MA in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and has taught workshops and led panels on fundraising, real estate, and management in the arts.

The Benvenuti Arts Fundraising Workshop was incredibly helpful. My producing partner and I run a fledgling arts organization. Sarah walked us through the basics of multiple approaches to fundraising, all with context from her experience in the field. This helped us understand not just how to fund raise, but the trends and contexts to help us refine our approach. Sarah’s personalized support, including a personal consultation, helped us refocus our strategy towards fundraising, and gave us clear first steps, as well as long-term goals and plans. I cannot recommend her workshop enough

Sarah knows how to breakdown the ins and outs of the grant systems. She gives you endless amounts of resources and tools to ensure you know which grants you are eligible for and how to make a good application! I highly recommend her workshops and working with her!
